aural: sorta sounds like he has a cold, which helps him as a death metal vocalist.

visual: simple jeans, t-shirt, and motorcycle boots. his hair is long for headbanging purposes.

mannerisms: a self-described 'nervous guy,' nathan tends to avoid eye contact and is a rather poor conversationalist. his speech is filled with filler words (uh, um, like, etc), and it takes a while for him to gather his thoughts into something coherent, especially in uncertain circumstances. regardless of this, he's still seen as his band's brutal leader.

fair warning metalocalypse is one of those canons that's super edgy and offensive on purpose, but i try to sanitize things a little. nathan does drugs and drinks a lot and has lots of sex with random groupies, so heads up for those sorts of things.

he's also, unfortunately, a product of the show's time. as this series debuted in the mid-2000s, there are lots of 'ew, that's gay' kind of jokes, things that have fallen out of favor, but are super ingrained into the show and nathan's character. i want to make it clear that nathan isn't genuinely homophobic, but he calls things like having emotions, or caring about being punctual 'gay'. it's a synonym for lame in his mind. he learned nothing from hillary duff. you can fix him.

overview

nathan is the leader, creator, and lead singer of the band dethklok. in universe, dethklok is so big that the surrounding economy is bigger than that of most countries. he's a krillionaire. these band members are more rich and influential than they have any right to be, and it's really a show about dumb, rich, idiots fucking things up for the rest of the world.

a lot of the comedy with nathan comes from the fact that he's been famous for so long that he has no idea how to do Normal Things, like go grocery shopping.
